Dr Kuo obtained his MD and Master’s degree from Chang Gung University and his PhD from the University of Nottingham, UK. His research interests include the epidemiology of rheumatic diseases, genetic epidemiology of common complex diseases, pharmacoepidemiology, and medical artificial intelligence.

He has published numerous papers on gout, covering various aspects such as epidemiology, treatment, prognosis, comorbidities, genetics, and risk factors.

Dr Kuo has also developed new models to assess drug-drug interactions using routinely collected data.

Dr Chua is a Clinician-Scientist at the NCCS and Duke-NUS Medical School, and Principal Investigator of the Precision Radiotherapeutics and Oncology Programme, supported by the NMRC Clinician-Scientist Award.

His research focuses on Phase II-III clinical trials in nasopharyngeal (NPC) and prostate cancers. For these cancer types, he runs a laboratory that is involved in data science and omics analytics that help with therapeutic and biomarker discovery.

Currently, Dr Chua co-leads the Singapore NPC Large Collaborative Grant, where he leads the platform trial on individualised treatments for advanced NPC.

Dr Chua is also the Chair of the ASCO Asia Pacific Regional Council, and Program Committee Chair of the ASCO Breakthrough Meeting 2024.

To date, Daniel has published >250 peer reviewed publications in high-impact journals, such as JAMA, NEJM, Lancet, Nature Medicine, and serves in American Academy of Ophthalmology, STARD-AI, QUADAS-AI and DECIDE-AI as an executive committee.

In 2022 and 2023, Daniel was ranked the Top 100 Ophthalmologists Power list by the Ophthalmologists, and ranked Top 100 clinical research (0.001%) in the World’s Top 2% Scientists by the Stanford University.

He is Minister-in-Charge of GovTech, the government technology agency, and a member of the Smart Nation Inter-Ministerial Committee. He chairs the Inter-Agency Task Force on Mental Health and Well-being and is a member of the Child and Maternal Health and Well-being Taskforce. He is also a member of the Ministerial Committee on Child Health and Development.

He is a member of the National Integration Council and an Advisor to Cyber Youth Singapore. As part of the People’s Association, he is a Board Member, Advisor to the PA Youth Movement, and Advisor to Narpani Peravai.

He has previously held portfolios at the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Transport.

He chairs OnePeople.sg, which works to promote racial harmony in Singapore, and the Exco of the PAP Community Foundation, which provides early childhood education and eldercare services. His political roles include Chair of Young PAP (the youth wing of the People’s Action Party), and Whip.

Catherine R. Lucey, MD, MACP leads the robust research enterprise and highly ranked academic programs at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) as Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost.

She works closely with the Chancellor and leadership team to develop campus priorities and vision, maintain the University’s status as an international leader in health sciences education and research, and oversee external partnerships representing UCSF’s best interests.

Her portfolio of work includes membership in the National Academy of Medicine, and past membership of the Board of Directors of the Association of American Medical Colleges, the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Mohan Kankanhalli is Provost’s Chair Professor of Computer Science at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Deputy Executive Chairman of AI Singapore.

His research encompasses Computer Vision, Multimedia Computing, and Information Security & Privacy. His contributions are in image and video understanding, data fusion, visual saliency as well as in content authentication and privacy. 

As Director of N-CRiPT (NUS Center for Research in Privacy Technologies), he leads initiatives on multimedia privacy and trustworthy machine learning.

Mohan is a member of World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on the Future of Artificial Intelligence. He is an IEEE Fellow.

Sebastian Maurer-Stroh graduated in theoretical biochemistry at the University of Vienna and obtained his master and PhD from the Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP). After FEBS and Marie Curie fellowships at the VIB-SWITCH lab in Brussels, he has been leading the sequence analytics portfolio in the A*STAR Bioinformatics Institute (BII) since 2007.

He is the Executive Director of BII since January 2021. His team had many successes in Precision Medicine, Consumer Product and Food Safety, and global viral pathogen surveillance through the GISAID initiative that has become the most important source for virus outbreak data sharing and analysis, powering public health responses globally.

He holds fellowships from multiple organisations worldwide including the Royal Colleges of Physicians of Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, and Australia, the American College of Gastroenterology, the Hong Kong College of Physicians, Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society and Academy of Medicine, Singapore.

He has published over 1000 full scientific articles in leading medical and scientific journals and was listed as “Highly Cited Researchers” from 2018 to 2022 by Clarivate Analytics.

Dean Coffman joined Duke-NUS in 2010 as Founding Director of the Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disorders SRP and was appointed Dean on July 2015. He is currently a member of the SingHealth Board of Directors. Dean Coffman’s research interests include the renin-angiotensin and prostanoid systems, and diabetic nephropathy.

An international leader in the field of nephrology, he is a Past-President of the American Society of Nephrology and is also a member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation and the Association of American Physicians.

Dean Coffman was conferred the 2014 Excellence Award for Hypertension Research from the American Heart Association Council.

Bernard is also the Exco Member of SGTECH, AI & HPC Chapter. He has been offering volunteered services to underprivileged children in Singapore through education and mentoring roles on the social level.

Dr Daniel Ting is the Associate Professor with Duke-NUS Medical School and Stanford University, senior consultant vitreo-retinal surgeon at the Singapore National Eye Center, Director of Singapore Health Service AI Office, and Associate Editor of npj Digital Medicine.

To date, Daniel has published >250 peer reviewed publications in high-impact journals, such as JAMA, NEJM, Lancet, Nature Medicine, and serves in American Academy of Ophthalmology, STARD-AI, QUADAS-AI and DECIDE-AI as an executive committee.

In 2022 and 2023, Daniel was ranked the Top 100 Ophthalmologists Power list by the Ophthalmologists, and ranked Top 100 clinical research (0.001%) in the World’s Top 2% Scientists by the Stanford University.

From 2010 to 2021, he was also ranked 1st for deep learning AI research scientist in the world across all domains (>55K researchers) by the ExpertScape.

He leads the health AI strategy and builds ecosystem enablers to support AI development and deployment, and is responsible for capability development, publication, partnership and outreach for data analytics and AI.

He held various analytics leadership roles and worked with private and public sectors in SEA, China, India and Japan.
